But we are depending on private citizens to continue to save important files from all over the world. In January 2026 AFU is working together with the community of Norrk\u00f6ping trying to find a large premises instead of the 16+1 (one is a storage area) we have today. With around 7,500 square feet and a total shelf capacity of 4,3 kilometers (2,7 miles) to our disposal we have now hit the ceiling and need your help to get better, bigger and more available to everyone with an interest in \u201dthe unknown\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AFU stands for Archives For the Unexplained but once meant Archives for UFO research. But our expansion into other areas of the unknown made us change our name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We hold huge files on UFOs, ghosts, sea monsters, strange creatures like Big Foot and elves, sightings of Jesus and angels, parapsychology, Ghost Rockets, unusual and strange natural phenomena, astronomical enigmas, folklore and science fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our localities are filled <\/strong>with millions of documents, pictures, films, audio recordings, and paraphernalia. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.afu.se\/afu2\/\">Visit AFU.se to take a look<\/a> or just browse the film clips from 7 of our 16+1 localities down here. That is of course depending&nbsp;on many things. One is a planned crowdfunding.<br><br><strong>We are also working with<\/strong> the community of Norrk\u00f6ping and with their politicians and are attending many of the cultural activities in the community as a partner&nbsp;at the same level&nbsp;as the library, theater or museums.&nbsp;<br><br>That makes us a part of Norrk\u00f6ping, accepted and treated as not just a \u201dUFO archive\u201d but as one important archive among others.
